The surgery has been moved to 4:30pm. They will put him under and intubate him. The doctors will try to extubate after the procedure. Once they put the tube in and it is breathing for him, his lungs might get used to it because of their weakened state . They may have to leave the breathing tube in for a couple of days but they will be at least trying to remove it immediately after. If it is left in he will be sedated during that time.
As far as the actual surgery, an incision will be made on both sides of the left ankle down to the bone. They will remove as much of the infection and puss as they can. The wounds will be left open but dressed, so it can drain more. Surgery is expected to take an hour.

Brandon, we are thinking of you every second. Our prayers and those of so many you don't even know are with you. I know this must suck right now, but you can and will kick this and this horrible week will be but a distant memory. Eli and Grace ask about you all day. We will see you later.
